about

"I woke up one morning with a distinct feeling that someone close to me was passing over. I could feel their energy was moving into the next realm. It was like a kind of premonition- and so the song came to life.

"..I felt you slip away, gentle as a breeze in May, gentle as a breeze in May.."

The song's are quite stripped back and have an 'other-world' quality. I wanted the vocals to feel like I was whispering in your ear, like your inner voice or a faint prayer. They are about death, addiction and the metaphysical, except the song I've Cried All The Tears (I'm Cryin' For You), which feels like a ballad Patsy Cline would have sang..."

lyrics

A Kind Of Premonition

By OXLIP

It was early in the morning as I lay

A kind of premonition you could say

I felt you slip away

Gentle as a breeze in May

Gentle as a breeeze in May

Strong are the winds that blew your way

Narrow are the creeks where children play

Your roots are strong but the branches are fine

You went your way I went mine

You went your way I went mine
